Andrea I is an easy shore dive with a broad, shallow reef top where seagrass and coral run into each other. Turtles come here to graze and are used to divers. The entry is flat and the current light.
Andrea I is a beginner shore dive on the west coast: seagrass and coral heads at three to five metres, a reef top at six metres and a slope to thirty.
A shallow strip with seagrass and loose coral heads at three to five metres, then a reef top at six metres dropping gently to thirty. Green turtles on the grass, stingrays on the sand and schools of grunts along the edge.
In the morning, when the turtles graze and the seagrass is clear. In an afternoon wind the shallow strip stirs up.
Little relief: this is a flat dive. In wind the visibility in the shallow zone drops fast. Parking on a strip along the road, no shade, no water, no toilet.
Decisions on diveability, technique and health belong with STINAPA, a dive school or a doctor. This page only describes the conditions.
The two sites Andrea I and Andrea II are named after the same person and lie a few hundred metres apart. The seagrass here belongs to the grown zone that runs along a large part of the west coast and serves as a nursery for reef fish.
