Carl's Hill Annex is the stretch of wall next to Carl's Hill: the same sponges, the same overhangs, but without the boats tied to the better-known name. Those who want to see the wall in peace get dropped here.
Carl's Hill Annex is an advanced boat dive on Klein Bonaire: a narrow top at five metres and a steep sponge wall to thirty-eight metres, quieter than Carl's Hill.
A narrow top at five metres gives way to a steep wall with tube sponges, vase sponges and black coral to thirty-eight metres. Lobster and moray in the overhangs; trumpetfish along the wall and now and then a turtle.
In calm sea; around midday the light falls most favourably on the wall. A torch brings out the sponge colours.
Little shallow water to off-gas on. The wall tempts you to go too deep, while the best of it stands between ten and twenty-five metres. Boat only, no facilities.
Decisions on diveability, technique and health belong with STINAPA, a dive school or a doctor. This page only describes the conditions.
The wall along the north-west corner of Klein Bonaire runs on for a few hundred metres; the two names mark two moorings on the same formation, not two reefs.
