Cha Cha Cha is one of the smaller entries along the southern residential district, with a sand channel that takes you to the reef without walking over coral. The dive is short on approach and calm in character.
Cha Cha Cha is a beginner shore dive on the south coast: a sand channel to a reef top at five to seven metres and a slope to thirty metres.
The sand channel runs to a reef top at five to seven metres with finger coral and fan coral. The slope drops gradually to thirty metres with sponges. Juvenile fish and trumpetfish on the top; rays on the sand.
In light wind and in the morning. The channel is hard to follow in swell, which raises the chance of coral damage.
Outside the channel you walk over coral — stay inside it. Little depth and little relief. Parking along the road in the district, no shade, no water, no toilet.
Decisions on diveability, technique and health belong with STINAPA, a dive school or a doctor. This page only describes the conditions.
The sand channels along this coast are partly natural and partly kept open over the years by divers. They are the reason the shallow coral here is better than at entries without a channel.
