Ebo's Reef is the quiet north side of Klein Bonaire: a gentle slope, little current and a reef that holds no surprises. That is exactly why it makes a good second dive of the day, after a deeper morning dive.
Ebo's Reef is a beginner boat dive on the north side of Klein Bonaire: a reef top at four to six metres, a gentle slope to thirty metres and little current.
A reef top at four to six metres with finger coral, sponges and sea anemones, sloping gently to thirty metres. Grunts and parrotfish school over the top, with shrimp and brittle stars in the crevices. Turtles pass through regularly.
As a second dive, when the boat crosses again after the morning. In light wind the visibility over the top is excellent.
Little relief and little drama: this is a calm dive, not a wall. Reachable only by boat. No facilities on the island. When busy, several boats sit on the same stretch.
Decisions on diveability, technique and health belong with STINAPA, a dive school or a doctor. This page only describes the conditions.
The north side of Klein Bonaire lies in the lee of the trade wind and so has gentle slopes rather than steep walls. The island has been fully protected and undeveloped since 1999.
