Jeannie's Glory lies so close to the salt pier that the same rule applies: if a ship is berthed, the dive does not go ahead. On the days when no loading is happening, it is a calm slope with little company.
Jeannie's Glory is an advanced shore dive on the south coast beside the salt pier: a reef top at five to seven metres and a slope to thirty-five metres, only when no ship is berthed.
A reef top at five to seven metres with finger coral and sponges, dropping to thirty-five metres. Sea fans and vase sponges on the slope. Schools of grunts along the edge; jacks pass in the blue.
Only when no ship is berthed at the pier or expected, and that you learn on the spot. In moderate current the dive runs from south to north.
The dive depends on shipping and that can change on the day itself. Entry over grit, verge along a through road. No shade, no water, no toilet.
Decisions on diveability, technique and health belong with STINAPA, a dive school or a doctor. This page only describes the conditions.
The loading pier for the salt sets the dive schedule for this whole stretch of coast: around the pier a ban applies while loading is under way. The salt still leaves the island by ship.
