Munk's Haven lies on the south-west side of Klein Bonaire, where the slope is full of overhangs and crevices. Lobster, moray and glassy sweepers shelter under those ledges. It is a dive to go slowly along the wall with a torch in hand.
Munk's Haven is an advanced boat dive on the south-west side of Klein Bonaire: a top at five to seven metres, overhangs at ten to twenty metres and a slope to thirty-five.
A top at five to seven metres gives way to a slope with overhangs at ten to twenty metres, dropping on to thirty-five. In the cavities, lobster, moray and cleaner shrimp; on the wall, vase sponges and black coral.
In calm sea and moderate current. By day with a torch, or when the dive school plans a dusk dive here.
The overhangs are tight: do not go in, and mind your tank above your head. In swell the boat does not run to this side. Boat only, no facilities.
Decisions on diveability, technique and health belong with STINAPA, a dive school or a doctor. This page only describes the conditions.
The south-west side of Klein Bonaire is more heavily cut by surf than the sheltered side, which explains the overhangs. They offer shelter to species that stay out of the light by day.
