Valerie's Hill is a short, steep knoll halfway down the south slope of Klein Bonaire. Around that knoll there is more current than beside it, and there jacks and tarpon hunt schools of small fish.
Valerie's Hill is an advanced boat dive on Klein Bonaire: a steep knoll on the slope with hunting jacks, a top at five to seven metres and depth to thirty-five.
A top at five to seven metres with a steep knoll dropping to thirty-five metres. Around the knoll, schools of grunts and hunting jacks; sponges and sea fans on the wall. Lobster in the crevices.
In moderate current, when the hunters are active. In the morning or late afternoon the chance of hunting behaviour is greatest.
Around the knoll the current speeds up and can turn. Away from the knoll the dive is ordinary. Boat only, no facilities.
Decisions on diveability, technique and health belong with STINAPA, a dive school or a doctor. This page only describes the conditions.
Protruding knolls and corners are where the water speeds up and food comes by; that is why hunters gather at them. The same logic applies at Nearest Point and Southwest Corner.
